About Anchored in the North
Anchored in the North is about building something that lasts.
We’re a veteran family in southern New Hampshire documenting our journey into homesteading — starting from the beginning. No generational farm. No inherited systems. Just land, intention, and a willingness to learn.
Service shaped how we think: discipline, resilience, long-term commitment. We’re applying those same values to food, family, and ownership.
This project began with a simple question: what would it look like to take responsibility for more of what we consume?
So we’re starting small. Chickens. Soil. Systems. We’re learning publicly and building deliberately — sharing what works, what doesn’t, and how modern tools can support old principles.
This isn’t about aesthetics.
It isn’t about perfection.
It’s about resilience.
It’s about ownership.
It’s about raising a family rooted in something real.
If you’re interested in fresh food, long winters, and building with intention, you’re in the right place.
Modern systems. Old values. Northern grit.
